The year was 1991. Spring.
Two individuals, tired of the lack of quality MUDs of the day, took it upon themselves to create a new world. It would be a place designed with a grand scheme in mind: where players -- both new and experienced -- would feel welcomed and never ignored; where wizards would no longer run amok, wreaking havok and destruction upon an unsuspecting populace; where the quality of its environment would be more important than the quantity; and where clear and fair rules would be laid out for all individuals to follow. For several months, these two built and tested this new world and when it was complete, the small town of Frontier was announced.
Things began slowly, at first. Players arrived, experienced what this new world had to offer, and many found it to be good. They stayed. Word spread and more began to arrive. Players became wizards, new areas and quests were created, and the world began to expand. New guilds came into being. Improvements on basic operations were always being made. Custom designing came in the form of weather, day and night cycles, and varying light levels. At the time, many of these things were rare on other worlds and their implementation in Frontier proved how dedicated its creators were.
At it's peak, Frontier had some 400 active players and wizards who came to work and to play from all corners of the Earth. After proving their worth, some of the wizards became trusted members of the administration, helping to make things run smoother for wizards and players alike. The town never slept.
The year was 1993. Fall.
And the town of Frontier came to a sudden end.

Everyone knew it couldn't last forever. The high-end resources used to make Frontier a possibility were generously lent out for free and it was only a matter of time before those resources would need to be reclaimed. So the town was archived, put safely away, and slowly forgotten.
Until five years later. 1998.
Frontier would be reborn...
